Rent a chalet in Switzerland!
The Valais region of Switzerland. I've travelled on the train up and down the valley on many an occasion in both the summer and the winter to visit the Saas region. No matter what time of the year you visit, the Saas valley is a delightful place to visit. In the winter, the peaks tower around you, covered in snow, waterfalls are frozen in time, and the region is always bustling in the same way as a small British town on market day. It never gets as hectic as some of the large French (or other Swiss) resorts yet still feels welcoming and alive. Lift queues are often non existent which is another bonus - more time to ski or board!

In the summer, the Saas valley changes to a slower pace. Most visitors come for the walking in beautiful scenery, or simply to relax in the sun and fresh air, to take some time out from day to day life. A walk along the river (cold water cascading from the glaciers), stopping to picnic and say hi to a friendly cow or marmotte, or taking the cable car to wander around in the snow in the height of summer are all activites on offer, and there is a lot more too. Why not take in some of the exclusive shops or hop on the bus round to the busier Zermatt for a day.

Below are a few great value chalets located in the Valais region. If you fancy elsewhere in Switzerland, then Villarenters have hundreds more properties on offer, so why not browse their site using the link on the left.
